For the third year running we are preparing to immerse ourselves in real time. A true DISCONNECTION; EXPERIENCING, TRANQUILITY, HEALTH AND ENJOYMENT  in one of the most fascinating places in the Island of Menorca namely, Es Barranc d’Algendar.

An incomparable HAVEN OF PEACE, little known by most local people and tourists, given that it is a private estate, intimate and separated from all civilization.

During our week in order to augment this peace we will communicate in WHISPERS. On the fifth day we will enter “MOUNAa period of total silenceentering a space reserved for internal dialogue with ourselves. If any of the attendees wishes to keep SILENCE themselves for more days, they will be welcomed.

At all times a sympathetic attitude and behaviour towards the different living beings that share this habitat; (animals, birds, insects, plants, trees…) is requested.

WHO IS THE YOGA RETREAT FOR?

SENSITIVE PEOPLE  from all cultures, with or without previous experience in yoga and who really want to experience a period of disconnection from daily obligations, the town life, mobile phone, stress, etc. Connecting with a totally yogic, healthy and natural life style, achieved through the simple techniques of Hatha Yoga, alongside meditation with Tibetan singing bowls, nature walks, a gentle horse ride, sunrise trips to unspoilt beaches, enhanced by an organic diet of local farm products.

MARTA LÁZARO; A native of Zaragoza, Spain, now resident in Menorca and the original founder of our yoga retreats three years ago.

Marta will be the leader of your Yoga Classes, engaged with the preparation of your meals and will be supporting you throughout the retreat.

CHANDRA GANDHARBA; A highly experienced meditation therapist using the unique sound of Tibetan Bowls to achieve his aims. He will delight you daily with his outdoor therapy sessions and will be with you throughout the retreats.

HATHA YOGA:

Hatha Yoga is an integrative practice that combines body, mind and spirit.

Beginning with deep breathing preparation, followed by karanas (corporal and spinal  exercises) and then Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation). Continuing with the practice of âsanas (postures), prânâyâma, (breathing techniques), techniques of meditation and culminating with relaxation.

Having  had the great fortune to be trained by some of the most renowned teachers of classical Hatha Yoga, I learnt that the pauses and  breaths between âsana and âsana are even more important than the âsana itself. Giving  time to integrate and internalize the exercise, where it´s subtle effects take place.

For some people it may seem strange, especially if they come from the Vinyasa practice, but this is the essence of Hatha yoga, the stillness in the movement invites mental quiet, dampening the thought process thus ending  the yoga session in a meditative state.

WE ARE WHAT WE EAT:

We follow a diet 100% vegetarian/vegan/raw healthy and according to the rhythms of Nature, from farmers of the Island, supporting the local business.

We offer a tasty & healthy breakfast after the yoga class: organic tea, infusion, coffee, whole organic bread, homemade jam, fresh local cheese, fruit & porridge.

A fresh lunch and healthy dinner.

ACCOMODATION:

Retreat members are accomomodated in a farm house and a close by cottage built into the cliff face.

Dating from the 19th century, both buildings are full of charm and character and were for more than a century the homes of the agricultural workers who tilled the land. Their location is unique.

A protected nature reserve set in a deep ravine with a gentle  stream winding through its heart, enhancing the harmony and traquility off its surroundings.

  • Home 1: 6 people. Bunks room (2 people) + single room (1 person) + cave dorm (3 people).
  • Home 2: 2/3 people: Double room/double bed (1/2 people), single room (1 person).

This retreat is bilingual. Chandra speaks English and Nepali, Marta speaks English & Spanish. We can there foreadapt to the needs of the group.
