Difficult to express with words the infinite gratitude after a Yoga Retreat in The Barranc d’Algendar, Menorca Island.

Exceptional days, new beings that have left a great imprint on the heart, and greats learnings

Big thanks to each person who have been part of this magical time-share and give me the strength and energy to follow the path of the heart.

I I attended the retreat in September with Marta at the Barranc of Algendar. It was a combined yoga and cooking retreat.

What an experience! I don’t know where to begin…

    A magical setting
As we drove in the Barranc I felt its magic… An instant disconnection to the busy world… A haven… A natural gorge with an old farm house embedded in the rocks. Could not have imagined a better place!

    A beautiful Soul
Marta, the teacher is the kindest soul. What an authentic and beautiful woman. She led the retreat with such warmth, friendliness and simplicity. We all felt at home instantly. With my beginners level of Spanish, Marta translated for me and I never felt left out. Her english is really good!

    Amazing food!
The retreat was in collaboration with another beautiful woman, Roccio! Every meal was a healthy feast! And half the feast were made by us 😉 Every day we had a cooking class and prepared some of the meals. I came back with many inspiring recipes and great energy from the fresh produce!

    Yoga
The yoga practice in the morning was in the heart of the gorge on a historical platform part of the old farm. We were surrounded by the cliffs, incredible trees, birds and soaring eagles. You might think im over selling this 😉 but that’s just the truth… just wow! Marta led the yoga classes and was accessible to all levels. (I am a beginner and felt at ease with the teaching. One morning we also did yoga on this incredible beach (cant remember the name)

    Time
I just felt this retreat was so well balanced between yoga, our cooking classes, our free time to just reconnect with ourselves, sleep, wonder, dream and read….
We also went out everday for a walk in the area or drove to visit a beach. One day we went kayaking on the coast which took us on a cave exploration. So after that week I also felt I got to see the beauty of Menorca.

    Accommodation
The house we stayed in was no luxury but a genuine farm house. A simple room with an incredible view. Back to basic, all one needs.

As always on these retreat, one meets like minded people. Everyone on a different journey, but all in search of reconnecting with them selves. We had great moments of sharing but also our space to just be.

I went back to my busy life lightened, with a piece of Barranc in my heart which I try and visit as often as I can.

Thank you Marta, thank you Roccio and thank you magical Barranc of Algendar x
